Thank you for your interest but I am currently on maternity leave and am not accepting new clients until winter 2018.
This site is intended to provide you with information about anxiety disorders so that you can find the resources and the tools you need to manage the pain that often results from daily struggles with anxiety. Anxiety can be debilitating. It can make you feel like you’ve lost connection with your life. Your concentration and focus suffer, your mood becomes unpredictable and your energy level can tank. Body aches and pains often manifest and sleep can feel like a foreign concept. You isolate, you avoid. Everything feels overwhelming and you can’t CALM DOWN. And let’s not forget our wonderful friend, Panic, who likes to show up uninvited to the daily party. Life feels like it’s driven by endless tasks, worries or fears and you spend your previous living moments racing, obsessing, or numbing yourself through the day. It’s no way to live. And you don’t have to.
I’ve specialized in evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders since 2005, and the most common thing I hear from new clients is: “Why haven’t I ever been told that there are effective treatments for this?”. I wish there was a simple answer. With the wealth of information out there about mental health and stress-related illnesses it can become difficult to know what is going to be the most helpful–especially when you’re already stressed! The most important thing to know is that you don’t have to continue to suffer like this.
An experienced therapist will LISTEN, help you sift through the wealth of information out there and collaborate with you based on your own personal needs and unique history. It’s a game-changing step that usually helps you to feel some relief right off the bat. The continued work is done at your own pace, always with compassion, and non-judgmental presence and (most importantly) a good sense of humor.
I have an awesome job. I have the honor of really getting to know and understand what it’s like to live another person’s life through their mind; to help them identify and accommodate their own needs by providing effective solutions. I am always astonished by the power of walking with someone through their pain and discomfort to the other side. It’s exhilarating and rewarding and it never gets old.
I hope you find this site helpful. If you have any additional questions or need additional support please feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from you.
